Visas for foreigners
El Salvador is part of the Agreement for the Creation of the Single Central American Visa for Free Mobility of Foreigners between the Republics of EL SALVADOR, HONDURAS, GUATEMALA AND NICARAGUA, since 2005, which defines according to the country of origin of the citizen who wishes to visit El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Honduras (CA-4), the type of visa you must have. In addition, the type of visa to apply to enter El Salvador or another CA-4 country will depend on the type of passport you have.

All the countries of South America and Africa, as well as Panama require for entry, that the visitor has been vaccinated against Yellow Fever fifteen (15) days prior to their trip.
Depending on your nationality, you will be:
• Exempt from visa (that is, you DO NOT need a visa to enter the country)
• Visa exempt with tourist card payment . (Which is acquired at the established border entry points or at the International Airport of El Salvador)
• You must apply for a consular visa , which are granted in the Diplomatic or Consular Representations of El Salvador.
• You must request a consulted visa , which are granted with prior authorization from the General Directorate of Migration and Immigration.
